Joe's Valley Ice Conditions? - Fish_N_Fnatic - 01-18-2017

Has anyone fished Joe's Valley recently? Want to try it Saturday, not sure how the ice conditions are though. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ice is good according to dwr. But if you fish joes valley , be carefull. There are warm springs in areas that can get a skiff of ice and a little snow , and be hard to see. So drill holes as you go and you should be fine. The warm spring issues in seely cove are the worst.

I was there for a few hours on the 7th. Ice at that time was 6-8 inches solid ice with a few inches of snow on top but not slushy. I was straight out from the new boat ramp in anywhere from 8-20 ft of water. Only marked a few fish but all of them that came in would hit the bait and it didn't seem to matter what was on. I don't remember the exact number on visibility but it was close to 20 feet so after I would mark one I would site fish it, pretty fun. I am planning on trying to get up there one more time before this storm hits if I make it I will report back.
