Wind Forecast Map(s) - Old_Coot - 05-12-2017
Because the wind forecast is such an important factor for me when I'm considering going fishing ... and because the TV weather forecasts generally only mention wind if it is going to be high somewhere, I was wondering if any of you have a wind forecast web site that you are particularly fond of that zeros in on specific locations (lakes).
What I am seeing so far in my Internet searches is still pretty general. I wish there was a good map that I could zoom in on a particular lake to see what the wind fore cast was going to be.

I always check this one when I'm heading to Strawberry. It's the National Weather Service. However, as you know Strawberry is usually calm in the mornings (well most lakes actually) and the wind usually picks up around 11AM. But on this web site there is a graph showing the wind speed by hour. It's usually fairly accurate but not always. Hope this helps.
