Uinta Mtns, road to Echo lake - THorne - 07-13-2017 Alright, I am making the trip up to Echo lake next week. Never done this one. I have heard that the road up is not great. But is it actually drivable? Will be making the drive in a 4x4 Dakota. Just plan for a SLOW go both on your way in and on your way out. [signature] Re: [THorne] Uinta Mtns, road to Echo lake - brookieguy1 - 07-13-2017 I've done it several times in a '94 Dakota myself. Go slow you'll be fine. It is very rough though, so have good tires and a spare. If you get sick of dink goldens and brook trout, drive to Marshall. Some decent brook trout in there. There aren't very many Holden's in there and they are way stunted in size. If you are looking for golden trout do some research for Cooke lake up in the windrivers. [signature] |
