Salmon River Steelhead Fishing? - Biigfish33 - 11-02-2017

Know it’s a down year, but has anyone been out chasing fish on the salmon this fall? I’ve heard some surprisingly good reports around the rigging area from a few friends. Seems like there’s usually some conversations on the forum by now.

Went out Thursday - Sunday to Salmon. Mostly road around on the razor and chased the ever illusive cold pack. They are catching fish and a lot more than I had thought they would due to the numbers and the late run. The bank fishermen are doing better than the boats and if you didn't have shrimp on you didn't play from the bank. Water temp was 42 deg at cove creek ramp on Saturday. Went down to Corn Creek to look at the new ramp work and the water is about .95. You could see every rock in the bottom of the river. The guys in the jet boats are doing well also down below according to Kevin Yates.
