Cold and frozen! Fished around Shady Grove while checking on our boat and visiting. Most of the shallow top water is frozen. Inch or two thick towards the back - probably thicker. Ice around Soddy Creek and areas. The Ice at Shady extended almost all the way to the first gas pumps. I found some open water on the other side and dropped a line with crappie jigs. Had one or two hits deep before I realized I could be in a boat with a heater watching the Saints and Carolina Game. Right as I was giving up I had a crappie about a foot out of the water before he dropped back in.<br /><br />Crappie Jig color was dark greenish.<br /><br />Lots of small fish dead and frozen along bank stuck in ice.<br /><br />Come on spring!
