Mill Meadow & Forsyth- Quick check - gofish435 - 04-25-2018 A friend and I fished Mill Meadow in our tubes from 9:30 until about 12:00 using fly gear. The reservoir is nearly full and ice free. We picked up a few browns and tigers using various leech patterns and buggers in size 8. We were using both medium and fast sinking lines. The water temperature was 45 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 2'. The fish we caught were really skinny. I've never seen fish that thin that were still alive.[:/] We got out at noon and drove up to Forsyth and fished until about 3:00 and picked up a few splake and tiger using the same gear. These fish were in much better shape as you can see from the pics. The water temperature was 45-47 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 4'. The reservoir is full and ice free. Most of the fish we caught came from water 10' - 15' deep and away from the shore line. It was a fun day on the water and I got to see a good friend that was catching his own share of the fish from shore. We all managed to put some meat on the table.[] [signature] Re: [gofish435] Mill Meadow & Forsyth- Quick check - Anglinarcher - 04-25-2018 I have seen sticks thicker then those fish. LOL They must have had a poor fall and winter. Re: [gofish435] Mill Meadow & Forsyth- Quick check - Joe_Dizzy - 04-25-2018 Nice report and pic's! Did the ice just come off that lake? I've seen the "snake effect" right after a long winter locked under ice... they pick up weight (and color) quickly though after strapping on the feed bag. You have to keep in mind that the Fremont above MM has one of the highest densities of brown trout anywhere. You want a definition of "stunted"? You got it right there. With that whole lake ice free, why is the Ranger boat sitting right in front of the shore fishermen at the spring??
