Lost Creek-Open Water? - Hikingrn2019 - 01-10-2019

The DWR report states it is still open water. Can anyone confirm this?

I was up there on Tuesday and the reservoir is capped with 7- to 8-inches of ice. There was about 5-inches to a foot of snow/slush on top of the ice. The road heading up to Lost Creek was snow covered in areas and the road from the dam to the boat ramp doesn't have winter maintenance so you will definitely need four-wheel-drive.

Fishing is slow and anglers are catching 15- to 18-inch cutthroat trout in about 20-feet of water and planter sized rainbow trout that are suspended in about 10-feet of water. Try using a white jig head tipped with a manic craw plastic, white tube jig or white cutter bugs.

Thanks for that report--it really helps everybody to know what lakes are fishable and what to be prepared for. And thanks again for all you do.
