Yes the prior groups will have already chosen their holes. They drill the holes in a grid pattern 15 ft apart. They drill 20% more holes than participants. So you have a chance to move around to different holes if you'd like. When a fish is caught it must be immediately weighed. They have a large tub and the fish must swim in order to be weighed. The rules do a good job of eliminating cheating. Tightline Outdoors has done an excellent job of running the event. It is alot of fun and the prizes are excellent. They pay out 30 spots and biggest fish of any species wins.
