Re: [Fisharefriends] Through the Ice Utah Lake - SkunkedAgain - 01-25-2020 Hey great post, the things kids will do (and at 8:30 at night, they are so lucky not to be dead).... Lot of folks have no ice smarts at all... Was over to Bear Lake the last time there was ice for cisco run. I punched a hole and there was like 2.5" of ice in the protected non-current part of the lake and it was scary and cracking and I was way nervous and very careful with my lifejacket and spikes to self rescue if needed... Well a group of skaters all of a sudden came out on the ice and didn't check a thing they just started skating right towards the area of current.. (Which by a couple hours later was open water) I was sure they were going swimming, but by some miracle they didn't, but they didn't know how close to tragedy they were... They were too clueless to know better... Good thing for those unseen miracles... later Jeff [signature] |
