How large?

The rainbows were around 18" and one lost at the hole would have been in the lower 20's and a fatty. All the rainbows seemed to be in much better shape- rounder.

So, Kent, how does that happen? Seems like both species eat at the same smorgasbord; why one fat and one skinny? Sounds kinda Old Testament-like.

Someone smarter than me will have to explain why the cutts don't get large enough to switch to a diet of eating chubs (there is a term for this, but I don't recall it at this time). I am confident it is related to the chubs not leaving enough food for the cutts to grow enough to make the switch. When cutts have a diet of minnows they put on the weight.

Anyone smarter than me, is welcome to add to/correct what I have written.

I also forget the exact term, but it's the same thing with lake trout. The ones that switch to an all fish diet grow so much faster than the ones that switch later. Some never make the switch for whatever reason.
