I launched the old fat cat float tube this morning at 630. Calm conditions with 65-degree surface water temp. I caught 15 little smallmouth bass and five walleye. Three of the eyes were 16-17 inches in length, and two of them were 28 and a half inches long. My personal best walleye from Deer creek. I caught the two big pigs back to back. I have never caught that many big ones in one trip.  The smaller eyes were a lot more feisty than the big ones, although the big ones did not come in easily. I was doing my usual jig fishing with minnow-shaped soft plastics on 1/8 ounce jigs. Bouncing the jigs off the bottom and worked slowly was the magic ticket today.

Wow, that is a great report, sure don't read many reports of eyes that big being caught a deer creek, congrats. What colored jig head were you using?

Well done, son.

How is the water depth for launching at Charleston?

The water is almost to the new post they put at Charleston. Just where I like the water level.

I am not sure, it was in a muti pack of 1/8 ounce mooneye jig head pack.

Very good report thanks for sharing.
How is the moss, last year i pulled then out of the moss, or just between the moss.. did you fish the week line, or the rocky shore line.

The moss is not bad yet. The weeds are just starting to come up, not in full force yet. I fished the east side of Charleston.
