Fish "Triggers" - TubeDude - 12-08-2020

I started this writeup several years ago.  But fishing with BearLakeFishGuy last Wednesday, we started talking about all of the things we did to change things up when the fish were being finicky...fish triggers.  So I dug up my initial writeup, did some rewriting and added some fish porn.  Hope it helps.

I always gotta laugh when non-anglers, newbies or other dimbulbs protest that sonar gives fishermen an unfair advantage.  Sure, it helps find the fish...but often it serves more to frustrate the anglers who can't get the fish to cooperate.  However, it can help you as you work through the tricks in your arsenal to try to find something they will vote for.

PS...This is open for everybody to post their own pet tricks and top secrets.  Caring and sharing.

Thanks for sharing the great write up, Pat.

There is some good information for whatever type of fishing you like to use to catch fish.

You mentioned some methods that I have used in the past and had forgotten about. Big Grin

Me too.  Can't believe how many times I harken back to something that used to work and wonder why I quit using it.   But then, I forget a lot more these days.  At least I think I do.  I don't remember.

Glad you liked it.

Great stuff Pat. I too have forgotten methods that has worked in the past. I tend to fish mostly the same place same time of day and have favorite methods for that particular water. And get pretty stubborn at times when what usually works but isnt. I need to remember the methods that has worked in the past and employ them. Thanks for reminding me .

As always, excellent detailed write-up with great photos. This is a great reminder of the wide variety and variation of lures and presentations. We often get stuck in a rut with what we think works best and don't change things up. Thanks!!!

I appreciate your appreciation.

This particular piece is kinda special to me.  As I dredged up and included each of the tips, I harkened back to my own progression along the road to angling "enlightenment".  Most of these things were learned on special trips, with special fishing buddies who were generous with dispensing their own accumulated wisdom.  But I do claim originality on others.  As most who know me know, I'm always tinkering and messin' with stuff.  Once in awhile I discover something worthwhile all by my ownself.

One thing most of us discover later in life, is that our pleasure in helping others get more enjoyment from their sport often supersedes grabbing all the enjoys for ourselves.  If my epistles help anybody else then I'm good widdat.

Thanks Jeff.  Happy to be able to download anything that might help others who are still climbing the fishing learning curve.  I am properly grateful for all of the help and inspiration I have received from others through the years and I am happy to pay it forward.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge, sometimes we forget what we’ve already learned while chasing the next lesson. It’s good to review what I knew and read some of the new stuff in your epistle.
