To Wiperhunter!! - Therapist - 08-17-2022 Do you know the kid that caught the 10"+ Sturgeon the other day???  The most amazing thing about the story was his description of it clearing the water completely !!  That is some POWER!! RE: To Wiperhunter!! - TubeDude - 08-17-2022 Most who have fished for sturgeon have stories of their leaping ability.  They are known to leap clear of the water both while hooked and not hooked.  It would seem to take a lot of power to get a fish that size airborne.  Here are some pics available online...along with an old pic of a biggun from Idaho in the olden days.   RE: To Wiperhunter!! - wiperhunter2 - 08-17-2022 Years ago, almost twenty year now, Kent, Ira or Craig and I were fishing on the snake river at CJ Strike when Kent hooked a big sturgeon and it went airborne and I happen to catch it on video. Not sure if Kent still has that video but you are right, it takes a lot of power to get one of those big fish all the way out of the water. Just like a marlin, their heads and tails are often going in opposite directions, as the sturgeon is airborne.
