New to me wyoming limits for Flaming gorge pups - Muskyon46 - 09-10-2024

Figured there's plenty here that fish the wyoming side. Came across this today. 1st I've heard of it but I'm sure it's not to new. Looks too be a big hurtin coming to the pups.

IMO, I doubt it will change much, if people aren't keeping them now, why would they keep them when it unlimited on the numbers you can keep. Undecided

Since they are now classified as non game fish in Wyoming people could catch and dispose of them or use them for bait or cat food or whatever. If they don't want to eat them they now have options to legally remove them from the lake and help the fishery out. I think that's the idea anyway.

I totally understand that is could be of some benefit, I just don't think it will make a huge difference in the long run, guess we will see.

We would keep more for sure but it's been years since we've been able to find good numbers of them thru the ice.

Wyoming F & G needs to implement the burbot rule since claiming lake trout as a non-game fish. All that's left is "must kill" at this point staying within the regulation size. Must kill regulation for all lake trout is in Yellowstone Lake
