Anyone got any info on a boat moving device? - wiperhunter2 - 11-04-2024

Sorry, I don't know what they are called but you use them to park your boat. They have two wheels and connect to the ball hitch on the front of the trailer, some are motorized, others aren't. I've been trying for months to park my new to me boat but it's just took big to easily park it in my back yard, without too much maneuvering. Does anyone have one? I'm just trying to find out if they are worth the cost and where I can find one.

I believe you're looking for a Trailer Vallet 5X. They are awesome for maneuvering a boat into tight spaces!

My old neighbor has one like that (power boat mover). It easily moves his 18' aluminum boat/motors on his grass yard. I've been thinking about one of these but for now I can muscle mine around on my paved driveway. I only have 1.5" of clearance on each side of my wheels when pushing it back into my garage, so there is VERY little room for error.

I have one the I bought from Harbor Freight. They work great. You're welcome to use it but I think I'm a long way from where you live. I'm west of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Salt Lake. The one I have is not motorized.

I have had two. Different manufactures. I got one from Harbor freight the other from the trailer supply on Pennsylvania Ave. a much better unit with more clearance just to let you know there is a difference. To use it on grass will take more mussel, get some help. Mine worked fine on concrete.

I only use it to pull the boat out and up the driveway to the truck. It is then removed because it isn't waterproof. It travels slow so it is great for tight maneuvers.

Thanks Richard, I'll need one with a motor, this boat is just too heavy to move by myself, even on concrete and most of the time I'm by myself, when putting the boat away. Do you know if either location you mentioned has one with a motor?

No I haven't. I think that it would sink on a recently watered lawn.
