hey
i just bought some new 5" bass assasin soft jerkbaits and i dont know what size hook would be good for using them weightless. The size of hook i usually use for my plastics is a 3/0 or 4/0. DOes anyone what would work best? thanks

i would use 4/0 to 5/0 if it was me also would try weedless styles

Depending on how big around they are, I will generally use 2/0 or 3/0. I may kick it up a notch on the thicker baits.

i tried out my bass assasin 5" jerk shads today here on my vacation in colorado. i used the 4/0 hookks seemed to work perfect. i almost had one. i was fishing it by some brush and i could see this llittle bass come up because the water was so clear and it took that shad and im pretty sure it was in its mouth but when i set the hook it came right out. i think i made a mistake by not exposing the hook enough, ill have to work on that. i'll be sure to get the pics when i get back. hopefully i can catch more for more pics.[

if you have trouble with hangups try a weedless hook.
