Hey there guys,

Anybody got any good reports on what they did on the Eastern Sierra trout opener? Heard the weather was too darn nice for a real bite! ha ha ha

Hello JR,

I didn't make it but I know Shawn Arnold was headed up. How did you do Shawn.

I have been so swamped lately I haven't been on the water in weeks. I plan on playing some serious catch up on the water next week!

1. The Sierra region is the best bet hands down for a beautiful rainbow trout, a big brown trout, or a cutthroat. Lake Crowley will have great fishing with less crowds. For the opener trollers had the best luck at scoring a quality limit of trout. The Bishop-area waters hav been planted with small trout that are a blast to catch. June Lake was on a hot bite for the opener, with trout to 6-0 landed, and cutthroats to 4-0 being taken by trollers. The Bridgeport area will be another great spot at a big rainbow or brown trout. Twin Lakes didn't kick out a big brown, but many nice trout were taken by anglers fishing big Rapalas. The best baits from Bishop to Bridgeport has been Power Bait, Eagle Claw Nitro Bait, salmon eggs, inflated nightcrawlers, mini-jigs, Lip Ripperz trout worms, or Thomas Buoyants.
