Ok, I want a splake. A big splake. My family and I wana hit Joes Valley this saturday, and I need to know if thier hitting still. I know just after ice-out people were catching 7+pounders on whole dead chubs. Any tips? Suggestions? Are they biting?
By the way, we'll have to fish from shore. I'll be able to go out, but they definatly can't. Will that matter?

try fishing in 20-30 ft of water just off the boat ramp or at the south end of the res or even the point south of the damn
jigs and lures tipped with sucker or minnow meat or maybe even a kastmaster(used by locals im told)

Does anyone know why they were draining this lake during the winter, was it for work they were doing on it.
