Trolling Plates? - Teroy - 05-18-2004 Does anyone have any info on the Troll-O-Matic trolling plate? Good or bad, let me know. Thx [signature] Re: [Teroy] Trolling Plates? - Gumbo - 05-18-2004 The troll-0-matic and the Happy Troller are two good, popular brands of trolling plates. Re: [Teroy] Trolling Plates? - iconoclasticPaul - 05-18-2004 I use happy troller plates, and it works fine for me. I noticed that Happy Troller is manually by rope, while this Trollamatic plates seems to be going by (auto) springs... dunno if it works on a consistent basis (such as breakdowns) while my happy troller hasn't broken down so far. The same goes for my friend Jas who has the same thing on his boat. But you have to be careful because they bend very easy. But like I said they do work.[/size][/red][/font] [font "Arial Black"][#ff0000][size 2] AFDan52[/size][/#ff0000][/font] [signature] Re: [AFDan52] Trolling Plates? - Teroy - 05-18-2004 Did you have the manual pull kind or the spring loaded kind Dan? Dont know when I can get out of the bomb dump during the day, you might have to swing by the house and grab them. I am in the process of getting a boat, yes. Although I see willard is still pretty low. Haha.(just kidding) I do think that it might be too low for you to launch something that big out there. If you PM me your address , I don't mind picking them up. [signature] Re: [Teroy] Trolling Plates? - mustbblind - 05-19-2004 automatic is ok till ya have to backup... [signature] Re: [mustbblind] Trolling Plates? - Teroy - 05-19-2004 Great point blind, thank you! [signature] Re: [Teroy] Trolling Plates? - Jasjorg - 05-20-2004 I have a Troll-A-Matic and it works good. You do loose a little speed on the top end thougt. Haven't had any trouble backing up guess it depends on your prop size mines 14*1/2" wide so it stick out the side. Hope this helps. [signature] |
