Holmes Creek Res. Tips? - moby_dick - 05-18-2004 Does anybody have any tips for fishing this pond? I have fished it several times with very little success. What to use? Where? Tips? - fishinfool - 05-18-2004 Use nightcrawler with no wieght, just the hook and the crawler,so it falls slowly, try to flip it out next to dead trees in the water, some big bass in there and some walleye I hear never caught one,but haven't been there for years. post up how it works,Fish the est side, along walk but better fishing. I found a significant number of bass that refused everything this year. The spawn is also over there. [signature] Re: [moby_dick] Holmes Creek Res. Tips? - nomoose - 05-19-2004 Try some dead gold fish or some live crickets . fish the north east side for the best bass. For the walleye I fish the cove on the south east side "less light there" use a floating"filled with air" crawler on a carolina rig. also some big crappie in there on the west side us crickets for them. the best way to rig them live is to tie them on the hook about a size 14 "like a bigger salmon egg hook. us a slip bobber to get the cricket down about 6' to 8' down. hope this helps. oh the walleye I've hooked have been about 2lbers.
