Where to fish in Alaska? - Kent - 06-29-2004

[size 1]A fellow employee of mine will be on a cruise to Alaska beginning tomorrow. He has the choice of fishing for one day either in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway or Sitka. He is not an experienced fisherman, and I'm sure would enjoy fishing the place that he is the most likely to catch some nice fish not necessarily a certain species. He has sought my input. I have never fished in Alaska. Any input on the best place of the four to fish out of would be appreciated. [/size]

Do you want to go fresh or salt??? I posted an answer on the saltwater board for you.[cool]

Note that I am not the one who is going to Alaska, and as long as fish are caught I doubt my fellow employee cares whether he is fishing fresh or salt.

There are several fishing guides or charters that they can look up through Google. There job is to make sure that people hook up with fish.[cool]

A buddy of mine just came back from up there. He took third place with a 170lb Halibut. The fish are there. It is best to have someone help your friends find them on their first time out there.[Smile]
