Utah's favorite black beauty - Coldfooter - 07-14-2004
It just dawned on me that we as outdoors men and fishermen can help control the Mormon cricket infestation. Whats more I bet they'd be deadly on a number of fish species. Of course a person might be risking live and limb, or in the least a few digits, to try and gather up a few of those monsterous black beauties. But hey, whats live without risk?

i remember hearing about the mormon crickets producing 'eyes at yuba, before the draining. i would assume as well that they would work well in lakes where there is a high population of crickets around.

I had a really great day using them at Vernon Reservoir a few years ago. I would catch them, barely hook them with no sinkers on the line, and let them swim. It was some great top water action, kind of like dry fly fishing.
