Deer Creek Report 8-12 - kastmaster - 08-13-2004 Went after the smallies at DC yesterday, fished from 5-8:30 pm and caught 13. Most were from 8-10" but caught one close to 13". At first, my son and I trolled a perch-colored crankbait and caught two small ones on that. Discovered where the fish are congregating after three or four passes, so we decided to anchor and fish in 14-18 ft of water. Used a dropshot rig most of the time, but the last four fish was caught on a split-shot rig. I used smoke-colored 4" Senkos and motor-oil 3" grub on all the fishes. We were by the island where some rocks are sticking out about 10 feet from shore. kastmaster kastmaster [signature] Re: [kastmaster] Deer Creek Report 8-12 - doggonefishin - 08-13-2004 Thanks for the report. Have you been up to Jordanelle lately? I haven't had the tube out for 3 weeks and am hoping for Saturday evening. I may also try the island if the waterskiers aren't too bad at DC. The fun boaters wasn't too bad last Thursday, of course, it was a weekday so that probably explains the small size of the recreational boaters on DC. I have family from out of town this weekend so I won't be able to do any fishing. PM me on your next outing, maybe I can join you if you don't mind some company. kastmaster [signature] |
