land sakes what a wind. - davetclown - 08-15-2004 I received a phone call about 7-8 o'clock last night from ground "0" when most others headed for the high lands, dad held his ground. and when Charlie passed over winds wipping in one direction and the eye hit then passed and the winds wipped the other way it ripped away at most every thing standing leaving vary little intact in its path. the storm passed and my dad steps out of his house nothing left but his house and grage. every thing else was gone, trees fence neighbors houses, some thing like stepping out the volt of the twilight zone. he drove 75 miles down the highway untill he could find a working cell phone tower. what houses he saw that were still standing had significant damage. still shaken a day later he called again saying the dammage to the area was far worse than he saw the day before. his bunny rabbits came up to him this morning looking for breakfast the same as they did yester day. running free in his yard. I know many of you will be down for a week or so till the power returns. I hope things will get back to normal soon....
