Thanks Tomc for the update.

I am sure you just saved some one from a nasty fine... I know that the reg books are getting to be novels any more and what most of us anglers want to know is what changed for the season....

good job keep up the great work.....

Any word Tom on why they needed to change the season in mid year?

i think the reason is,because they can[crazy].a few years ago we went out for porgies in the middle of the season,DEP came up along side of us,asked how we were doing,we showed them the porgies in the livewell.he then informed us they closed the season for three weeks, with no explaination.we got away with no fine, but had to dump 28 porgies back into the drink.there is no rhyme or reason for the state to change the rules in mid season.

how dose a man keep up?

reminds me of the trout fishing season on an old Disney cartoon where the game warden came out and cut the lines of all the anglers holding up their catches cause the season just ended 5 minutes ago.

personaly I think if they are going to change the season in mid stream they should have to send a registered letter to every license holder at least three days before the change is suspost to go in to affect.

at least make it a public anouncement on all the tv news stations across the state every day for a week so every one will be at least clued in on the change. Making it nessasary to have to log in to a state web page every time you want to go fishing is not an option. if it were I would never be able to get my line wet...
