What to do when your waterproof boots leak? - hustler898 - 10-26-2004
Just get a new pair or spray them down with water repellant? I got it only use them when the ground is dry, LOL. Any suggestions?

If they or gore tex or something simillar don't spray water repelant on them it will ruion it use beeswax on them it will let the gore tex or similler stuff breath which is very important

waterproof or water resistant? big difference in footwear. if they are goretex and they leak take them back if they are under warranty. if they are not good ole fashioned mink oil is what i use on boots that are not goretex and i want some protection from water in my boots. keep in mind if they are water resistant, they are just that they resist water for a little while just as a wool sweater will but once wet they soak it up.

I went out and bought a different boot to use in wet conditions, LOL. They are Earth Shoes hiking boots no goretex there. Inexpensive but very comfortable. They are waterproof and are marked as so. I have stood in water nearly up to my ankles on many occasions and they have never leaked. Over the past week or so they began leaking by just standing in the rain or walking through wet undergrowth.
I have some of that silcone water repellent spray. I may just hit them with that or wax and continue using them in warmer weather. Thanks everyone for the info.
