Phoenix - fish1on - 11-11-2004

I will be on a business trip to Phoenix next week. Any urban ponds worth hitting while I am there?? Also are there any cool tackle shops that I must go to???
I will be staying in a hotel near the airport and travel time is limited.

with the cold front in today fishing may be a little rough. But Tempe town lake has been producing some good fish. There has been a trout plant, catfishing is still going but starting to fade, fishing for bass from the north shore is the best bet right now. to the east of the boat launch there are submerged weeds that hold some nice fish. Dropshooting will work well along with slow crawling roboworms greenies.
Along the lines of a tackle shop the closest will be Waterdog Willies on the southeast corner of Mclintock and baseline.

Dang, I wish I got this info sooner! I am already back and never got to fish or shop for more gear that I don't need.

That Tempe town lake is a fun spot to play around at. I was there last year with my son when we went to share Turkey day with TubeDude.

It is pretty easy to catch the little hatchery pets near the west bridge.[cool]
