Smith and Morehouse - FargoJim - 12-20-2004
Fished Smith and Morehouse yesterday. The ice is good (about 3" of good stuff under about 12" of weak stuff). You can't get to the lake by car but it's only about a 2 1/2 mile walk on packed snow, so that's not bad. Fishing was slow. We brought home only 4 keepers. But the scenery was awesome and we had the lake to ourselves, except for a pack of noisy coyotes. Great fishing day.

Wow, you walked 2.5 miles to ice fish, you are one tough guy, was that one way? Too bad the catching wasn't better.

2 1/2 each way, but the road is packed pretty well, so it's more of a stroll than a hike...
