Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Fly-Tying Workshop

This workshop is part of the Beyond BOW workshop series sponsored by
the Division of Fish and Wildlife. These workshops are designed
primarily to provide a welcoming environment in which to learn outdoor
skills. Anyone over 18 years of age may participate.
Have you always wanted to learn to tie your own flies for your fly
fishing adventures? Wondering whether to use a dry fly, wet fly,
nymphs, streamers or terrestrials? If so, this is a great opportunity
to get started. No experience is necessary.
This workshop will consist of a morning seminar introducing the
equipment and materials used in fly tying, types of flies and tying
techniques, and an afternoon of tying flies with the help of volunteer
instructors. This workshop is designed for beginners. All materials
will be provided and you may keep the flies that you tie.
The cost for the day is $40, which includes lunch and morning
refreshments.

"Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" is a workshop directed toward women, yet
is an opportunity for anyone 18 years or older to learn new outdoor
skills, improve existing skills and enhance their appreciation of the
outdoors. This workshop is designed for those who have never tried these
activities and hope for an opportunity to learn; are beginners who hope
to improve their skills; have some outdoor experience and would like to
expand their abilities; are excited to meet other outdoor enthusiasts.
The workshops introduce women to a variety of activities equally
balanced between hunting and shooting, fishing and non-harvest sports
like canoeing, camping, birding and kayaking.
