Report from Fishlake - FishingWaters - 01-30-2005
I took my family to Fishlake for two day. Thursday was mostly sunny and the fishing was a little slow. My 10 year old managed to out fish me again he caught a 18” Splake it has no color so it may be a Mac I’ll have to post a picture when I get back on Tuesday. We managed to ice around 40 fish between us on Thursday. Friday we woke up to a snow storm and headed out to the other side of the lake. The wind and snow was on and off all day. The fishing was good once we found the right spot I lost track of time, next thing my wife was wondering if I was coming in for lunch at 3:00. The tent and fishing was to nice to leave. We lost track of the fish count but we were landing one ever 15 – 10 minutes. I’ll post more with pictures later. We stopped in Richfield for dinner with the B-law on Saturday and ran in to Pikeman that guy must always talk about fishing I could help but over hear him planning the BFT outing for February 19. I’m on my way to Strawberry this morning for the next two days.

Tanks for the report,me and my family are going up there on febuary 12. I have been hoping to here some reports. Do you have any tips. I fish FISH LAKE atleast three times in the summer, but I have never fished there on the ice. Were you fishing the east shore in the deep water, if so how was it? Did you have any time to fish one of the many cheese holes? Me and my girls can't wait to rip some lips.

We have the sleds with us. I hope to get away from the crowds up here at strawberry. Just pulled in to the marna and the wind is blowing. Talked to a few guys and fish cop said the fishing was slow today. I think I’ll hang out here in the camper until the wind dies down and the fishing picks up. May head out to night for some night fishing.

Sounds like fun did you land any toad perch? and any other fish of size besides that splake/mack? Just be glad that you arnt there today, the weather is as bad as it has been all week up that a way.

The first fish my boy caught was a perch nothing big. We cut it up and used it for bate. It was the only one we caught.
