things to do in texas? - Cowmilker - 03-14-2005 Any of you here from Texas? I have a relative who is moving there (San Antinio) next month and I may be driving the U-Haul. What is there to do down there? How much is a fishing license? Is the there any opf those fish houses near San Antonio (I'm talking about those catfish farms, where they just keep bringing you fish until you tell them to stop)? Is there anything else a native Utahn should experience while he is there? With that being said, there's the obvious touristy things to do like visit the Alamo, and go downtown to the riverwalk (I think it's called). Lots of fun things to do there. Make sure you try out some good mexican restaurants down there. "Texmex" is the best mexican food I've ever had. Also, there's a million AWESOME bar-b-que restaraunts down there, so make sure you get some of that. If you've never had REAL southern bar-b-que, then you haven't lived, and in Texas they use mesquite wood, which really makes an awesome flavor. There's supposed to be some great bass fishing lakes around there, so look em up. You could probably look up a San Antonio Bass fishing guide right here on this site. Hope this helps get you started, and good luck!
