Any good longer lasting dry fly dressing out there? - CBR - 03-25-2005 I use a powder dry fly dressing in the winter to keep the fly afloat and a spray on dressing in the warmer months but I notice each only last abotu 10 casts before I have to re-apply. Is there a dressing out there that lasts longer than 10 casts? It's an ultra fine silicone powder that you work into the fly with a little brush. It takes a little extra effort to apply it but if you do it right it lasts a long time. It can also make nymph fishing fun because it will create an air bubble around your nymph. That can drive the fish crazy.[laugh] [signature] Re: [CBR] Any good longer lasting dry fly dressing out there? - DKStroutfitter - 03-25-2005 I have tried a lot of brands and I have found Gink to be the best for me. It lasts a long time and is easy to use. [signature] Re: [CBR] Any good longer lasting dry fly dressing out there? - Everet14 - 03-26-2005 Hey CBR, The best dressing for me is Loon. I fished with two applications all day on the Henrys Fork from warm river to ashton. It was amazing just two applications lasted for 6 miles of river and fish. This is my favorite but it is just my opinion. Everet [signature] |
