[cool]Exactly, d-mack. When the folks over on the "elitist" Utah board find out about that article, there'll be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth! Who cares if the fish are getting stunted, or are a little on the skinney side(because their overcrowded per mile)-that doesn't give anybody the right to take a couple of under 15-inchers home for dinner that night!

There's actually a good discussion going on over there about this. I'm a catch and release guy for the purpose of letting the big ones go. I also don't keep the under 15" fish, I don't eat fish, so why should I keep 'em.
I do think in the case of the Provo River, and many others, fish should be harvested for overpolutation purposes. Unfortunately at one time, and to an extent it still is, considered evil for flyfishers to keep fish. Kind of stupid if you ask me, but as I've witnessed friends and family take home a load of fish just to sit in the freezer, if they are going to waste why not just leave them. This is where I think the C&R mentality came in.
I think things will change in the flyfishing community in regards to keeping fish, lets just hope this flyfisher can figure out how to do it.

To me it is a simple rule. If you are sure you are going to eat it before it hits a freezer, then you can keep it. Once it hits the freezer it becomes garbage and should have been left in the lake.
I love going camping at Strawberry with my family and bringing a couple of good fish to cook up with dinner. Hopefully I can catch a couple that I can do that with this year.

Stereotypes aside, I for one am a fly flinger that will keep and eat trout. They don't go into the freezer for eternal slumber either like a lot of people I know do.
..and yes I've even <gulp> eaten my fair share of Provo River browns.
