back after a short vacation (all vacations are too short , long vacations are called retirement , lol !) i found all the larger "river lakes " in the area are 99% open water , some coves and banks still have a skim of ice on them . small ponds are covered in unsafe ice . the dams will be active during the next few weeks , we have some warm rain comming .
everybody got there new fishing licence ? i'm getting the all species thursday after work .
i've got spawn to tie and waxeys to toss ," hello au sable , big daddys going fishing ".

well suckers have started to run in omer , the pike are just now getting into the ditches . flatrock is seeing some steelhead action .
in flatrock , huron river , the dnr was taging walleye just east of the telegraph bridge last week . there is a new boat launch at flatrock just below the bridge .
a couple guys lost there canoe and all there gear while on the huron last week , it flipped and they made it to shore near a half mile below the golf course . the water is freesing cold , they were lucky .
i gotta dig thru the freeser and get my spawn out for the weekend , rain is in our forcast . i've got some bags to tie .
i'l be starting to work on the canoe you sold me this week , somehow i feel we'll be doing some camping soon at the lake, that canoe will be perfect on our trips ! thank you for the deal , i'm loving the craft already , can't wait to use it .
the old computer cought a virus , it's slower than cheese-whis . i've done a few scans , it's time to upgrade the program . we're going to xp as soon as i can get to midland .

just as soon as the rain sets in here or my ground temp gets to the point where the worms come up I will just have to wait for them suckers...[laugh]

use a piece of sponge ! no kidding !
a 1/4 "to 3/8 " piece of a kitchen sink sponge , use any color , and they will hit it 
][][] my best fly for them is a couple turkey feathers tied up to resemble a decaying bug carcas , it works the best .[cool]
i raked up a couple worms in the pine needles this week , i satill have a little snow along the driveway in the shade areas , the ground is thawing out .

I might give that a try one day, I have seen suckers get caught in the trout stream during the opener,
I cant beleive I havent produced a fish yet. and the contest has been open now for a whole week....[angelic]

i tried yesterday , not one hit 
] water's too cold on the east side for a run , maybe next weekend .
i'm having some friends over for a BBQ today and giving them a old car i have here , there car engine blew up .[angelic]
maybe i can talk them into hitting the stream for an hour or two today .[

i know , same here too .
i had the chance to go with a guy from work over to the tobacco river for some crappie .
i thought to myself , crappie or steelhead ?
