My son's 4wheeler - Cowmilker - 04-17-2005 The clutch on my son's Suzuki LT50 4 wheeler is locked up and it wont release. It wasn't running for a little while and I think someone (my brother in law) tried to push/pull it to start it by compression. I cleaned out the carb today and got it to start, but I had to prop it up so the wheels were off the ground as I was pulling on the cord. I ran it up and down the street a few times to see if the accelleration and deceleration would break the clutch free but it is still stuck. Does anyone know a trick to get it unstuck, before I have to take it somewhere? Does anyone know a good, cheap repair place? Any hints would be appreciated! They usually have problems with slippage when they go bad, but it could be sticking. The biggest problem with those type of clutches, is that they eventually wear out. Just like a snowmobile clutch. If the clutch is gone, they are usually around $500 to get repaired. Sometimes a rebuild kit can be of benefit, but those are usually short term repair options. Good luck. [signature] |
