Benson Marina Walleye - Jethro12 - 05-26-2005
Believe it or not I got into the walleye this morning at Benson Marina. After failing at my trusty kitty hole early this morning I thought I'd throw some bigger bait at the marina to see if there was anything bigger than those little yellow bullheads in there. To my surprise not long after I cast out my carp/shrimp combo meal I had a hard hit but it robbed me clean. Cast out again and soon after a hookup. It felt pretty good so I knew it wasn't a bullhead so I expected a carp or channel, but in comes a walleye. Missed a couple more hard hits before I hooked up again, another walleye. Don't know if this is usual and even if the other hits were walleye too, but I'm guessing they were.

I've never had the chance to hook a walleye out at Benson. How bad were the bugs? We may try it out this weekend if I can get a hall pass. Chicken.

Benson Marina is in Cache Valley on Cutler Reservoir. I didn't notice many bugs this morning, maybe I'll see you there chicken, you know I've gotta try it again.
