Fish Surveys on Uinta Streams - lurechucker - 08-09-2005
For all of you who have ever wanted to see what kind of fish really lurk up in the Uintas, this is it!
The Forest Service will be doing fish surveys (electroshock, I believe) in the North Slope--Blacks Fork to be exact--over the week of the 15th and again over the week of the 22nd.
They're looking for volunteers to help out. Some samples are taken way in and require a bit of hiking, while others are closer to the trailhead. TU is taking care of the food, and there will be trailers to sleep in (although you can bring your own accomodations).
I'll be up there on the 17th in the Red Castle area. Volunteers are still needed for just about every day of their surveys. You can do just one day, or multiple days.

I do know I'm going up Little West Fork and Birch Creek Monday, and West Fork Tuesday.

There's supposed to be some monster fish in Red Castle lake. Good luck guys. Wish I could make it. I grew up with a cabin in that area.
