IGFA Establishes Bob Herder Award - FishNews - 11-03-2005
DANIA BEACH, FL[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 2]—[/size][/font]Bob Herder, one of sport fishing's legends and ardent conservationists, passed away this past April, but now has an important award named in his memory.
The Bob Herder Light Tackle Award has been established by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and the Ocean City Light Tackle Club (OCLTC) to honor Herder, the man who OCLTC member Barry Fitzpatrick says, "maintained an abiding commitment to the principles and objectives of the IGFA." The award was permanently endowed by contributions from the OCLTC and Herder's family and friends.
Beginning in 2006, the award will be presented annually to an individual or organization in recognition of what the IGFA considers an outstanding achievement with light tackle in the marine environment.
