ICE??? - Fight4not - 11-30-2005
For all of those that love ice fishing out there the ice seems to be thicker and thicker every day. I went out to the rexburg nature park today to see if the ponds were frozen. They were covered with ice and seems to be safe to go out on. I took a few steps out and it seemed great. I also saw several other foot prints out farther. If anyone else knows of any ice let us know. I think it would be helpfull if we could report any other lakes or ponds that are frozen over and ready to be fished. [

es, man. There is ice in the canyon at Big Elk Creek. We fished on it last Saturday and did rather well. Lots of light bighting cutts but nothing over 16 inches. Also caught a Rocky Mountain bonefish (whitefish) which was a first for us at Elk Creek. Ice was three to four inches thick and clear all the way through. With the cold this week it should be six inches plus now. As always at Pallies, the shore ice is sketchy so be careful getting on. Nightcrawlers or red and white tube jigs tipped with a mealie do the trick. Hope to fish it on Saturday. Good luck.[signature]

With the exception of Ririe I can't think of any popular ice fishing lake/reservoir in Eastern Idaho that won't have fishable ice within a couple weeks if the current weather pattern keeps up. If the weather doesn't make driving a bad idea I'll probably head toward Malad tomorrow and post a report.

Good to see your back and thanks for the report. For me the fishing is often slower at Pali
es when compared to other places in the area. When fishing Palies it is nice to know that I have a chance of catching a real hawg. The scenery at Palies can't be beat.[signature]
