Fish Lake Awesome. - fsh4fun05 - 01-11-2006
Went to FL on Monday. Fished all day and caught fish all day. Ice is about 10-11" thick and solid on south end. About a good third solid and covered with snow the rest is oced over on the other side of the press. ridge, went to check it and it cracked under my feet, I ran like a scared little girl [blush]. Only caught one Mac in late afternoon in 85-90' of water. Dont know the weight but it was 33" long and filled the top tray of my smoker, maybe 9-10 lbs. Fishing seemed to be better in afternoon. Splake on bottom in 35-55' and bows suspending 15-20 below the deck. Went up there for perch but got distracted by the awesome trout fishing.
And I almost forgot keep an eye out for my little girl, there was a reporter for the SL tribune up there taking pics of ice fishin girl (she made me call her that) she caught more fish than I did, something about that erratic jigging motion that turns fish on!

Thats music to my ears. We will be there over Presidents Day weekend in Febuary and I was hoping for good ice. No deposit returns on the rooms. Now I can't wait for the trip. It should be fun. It's my first trip to FL.

Was the whole lake frooze?? I like to fish the north end was there ice up there and where there people fishing it??

The mack must have been a snake, evary 33 incher I've ever seen went 18 to 20 lbs. a nice big fish at any rate.
