Beginner Flies - Kraizee_Skot - 03-11-2006 [font "Comic Sans MS"][#ff4040]Hey guys, I was just wondering what flies I should stock up in my box. I am a newbie to this fly flinging game and was just wondering which flies I should always have with me. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I have had very little success using an ant or beetle pattern. Do you tie an ant with some white on top,[u] so that you can see it? The few times that I have caught a trout on an ant, I was using it as a dropper behind a Wulff or other attractor. That is the only way that I can see an ant on the water. Also how big should the ant be? On the Green, I hear of great success using a Chernoble ant. Sounds big to me! I just fish it alone as any dry. [signature] |
