Rod blanks for Ice rods - SKEETER2 - 01-27-2003 I've been wanting to make a couple of Ice fishing poles but I can't find anybody that carries Ice rod blanks. Doe anybody know where I can find a good quality rod blank for Ice fishing. Any info would be great thanks Skeeter2 [signature] Re: [SKEETER2] Rod blanks for Ice rods - plecopterahopper - 01-29-2003 I have had the same question, but what I have found is that most manufacturers don't make a blank specifically for ice fishing. What you need to do is decide what kind of stiffness and tip sensitivity you want and find a one piece blank that is rated a little higher than you want and then cut the length down. This gives you a rod that has the tip sensitivity you want and stiffness close to what you want. Hope this helps.
