yep, that's pretty wierd.

I tried it with just picking a final number and it didn't work, don't know what that means.

After you have picked you number look at how many times that pattern appears in the number to pattern list. There are many numbers associated with one pattern than there are patterns.

Any double digit number add its individual digits together then subtract the sum of that number by original double digit number always equals a factor of 9!

polokid hit the nail on the head

When you add the two numbers together and then subtract that from the original, you get a factor of 9.

Then when you look at the characters, every factor of 9 has the same symbol: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, etc.

Yep, you solved it. Another tidbit is that the symbols are reassigned. How about solving this one:

In what order are the following numbers arranged?

8
5
4
9
1
7
6
3
2
0

Re: [kentofnsl] Please explain how this works? - polokid - 06-21-2006

This is probably not the answer, but if you add 6+3 5+4 9+0 7+2 8+1 they all equal nine. Besides that I am stumped. so what is the answer?

I see that the design that correlates with your # shows up after the 10 seconds but how does it work and what does the alphabetical order and such have to do with it?

I was replying to this:

They are alphabetical when spelled out....

I cheated. I copied the number sequence and googled it, quickly finding the answer.[Tongue]

I get it now, but what about the signs and how it knows what sign you were looking at?

On the symbol puzzle next time you do it. Notice that all factors of 9 have the same symbol next to it. Everytime you do it, the symbols change, but they are always the same symbol for factors of 9. (factors of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90, 99.....)
