lost grandfather. - BADFISH - 12-27-2006

We lost our grandfather christmas eve 06 @ approx 11:30pm. He was a great man, and immaculate person. he was born in 1914. Served in WWII and was in berlin as captain of the motor pool for the US. he took the first car to Utah and Colorado with his father in the early 1900's before there was a road. He worked with his father in family business that was opened in 1913. He was a charter member out at Hidden valley/Fort douglas country club, and he loved golf as much as I loved learning to golf from him. he was an avid bird killer when he was younger and was known to flip a fly once in a while. he raised the kid that is my father who is just like him in many ways. He is my "grumpy" and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. If any of you find a man like him, please direct him upstairs or to my house for one last drink (jack and soda).
thanks all.

Re: [BADFISH] lost grandfather. - CROSSINEYES - 12-27-2006

he is never lost unless you choose to forget him. from your words i can tell he lives in your heart. the only thing lost is his fissical body. his spirit will never die. hit the first drive every yr for him. say the words aloud. come on granpa its your up. let your spirit fly with the ball. and you will feel his love and embrace every time. it may bring tears of joy. if your buddies ask why you have tears share with them why. and they may choose to embrace there loved ones that have past in a new light. love and light to all in your space. ken

Sounds like a good man that touched a lot of lives. You won't forget your Grumpy too soon. I'll toast him and say a few kind words. Peace to your family!

Sounds like he was a very good man. Both of my grandfathers are WWII vets as well.

Best wishes to you and your family. [Smile]
