I hope to give some new areas a try this year. It sure is a great place to catch a ton of fish. The best fishing was at Tomsan lake behind the four lakes basin. 2 - 2 1/2 pound brookies. Not by me by no means . I hope to break 2# on a brook from the Uintas this year . I have only hooked a hand full ever close to 2# up there . But I don't fish the Uintas much . I like to go for some fall color and a brookie is great for color pic in the fall . I assume bait and treble hooks are allowed right? How many people do you think one of those brookies can feed? There will probably be about 20 of us. [signature] Re: [Lobina_Mosca] The Uintas - trollboy8 - 08-30-2006 I took a scout troop up to Trial lake area back in July. We camped near Crystal lake and fished there and at Washington lake with very good success--particularly with a fly (renegade or mosquitoe) behind a casting bubble. [/reply] I really hope you are kidding on this one. 2# brooks should be treasured. Take the smaller ones from a nearby lake for eating and show the kids respect for one of natures beauties and release the big boys that are so rare up there. I was a backpacking guide for a High Adventure camp this summer. I have been all over up there. [signature] |
