My boss is totally cool. If I even mention fishing, he will ask me to bring him some. I did have to teach him that LMB are only toys. I have to put them back after playing with them.
He understands and waits for my weekend trips to the Ocean. That's where he can enjoy some nice Red Snapper.[cool]

Several years ago I pushed for my company to adopt Paid Time Off (which they did) instead of vacation days and sick leave days. It is so much nicer for employees to just take paid days off and it doesn't matter if they are ill (or pretending to be Ill) or just taking a day of vacation.

I usually send my manager an email letting him know I will be going fishing or hunting or sleeping in. It works well for me.

I one used a " i chipped my tooth and have a emergency dentist appointment excuse" But the next day I got a funny look from my boss im sure the sunburn on my face gave me away [blush] lol

Thats kinda funny i did the same thing kinda one day but i used another reason but the sunburn gave me away. my boss is so coll. he said where did you go wet a line. I told him Utah Lake .So after lunch that day he told me that tomorrow he thought that there might be a good chance the he might be sick and might have to stay home. (he went to play golf) My boss is the best . He knows when i start to get that look as he calls it that i need to get away. We have a great relationship. If ever there was a great boss then it would be mine. Just due to to the fact that we only have 3 people in the whole company it makes it a lot better. He has even give me paid time off to go early to go wet a line . What a great Boss. I only wish that everyone could have a boss this great.

I have quite a bit of vacation time with the state so in my department, I just ask for a day off a couple days ahead of time and its usually granted. Pretty sweet deal... although I used a bit of time recently and might be getting the spring flu.... Seems the Dude has discovered some willing cats on Utah Lake and I might have to pay them a visit to see about a remedy for said flu. [cool]
