Flies for salmon - Xmlfish - 05-12-2007

I am going to alaska all summer and i have been wondering what fliesi should tie and if anyone knows where is can find a video or anything like that just tell me a link or anything. Any help would be great.

Salmon tend to like Glow Bugs. The instructions for tying them are right on most of the Orvis yarn packages.

Colors to include are Pink, orange, Cheese, yellow, Chartruese and even green.

I would go with the glow bugs unless you are good at tying "Roe Clusters"

Next in line would be the Krystal Bullets, Red, Orange, Pink, or Chartruese with lots of Flashabou.

Shrimp patterns will also work well. Pinks and Oranges.

Fat Pinkys tend to work well in stained water or near leadges.

Wooley Shrimps, Eyed Parakeets, and Maribou Popsicle.[cool]
