The Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve in Rochester Hills is hosting a Hooked on
Fishing class for youth ages 6 and up. This is an exciting hands-on program
that uses the Project F.I.S.H. activities to introduce children and their
parents to the art of fishing. Parents are encouraged to attend with their
child.
Participants will see the many sides of fishing...through exciting
activities and sampling experiments. You'll get the chance to make your own
fish-printed t-shirt, so be sure to bring along a light colored t-shirt!!!
You'll also learn how to tie flies and make inline spinner baits and all the
knots that are needed to tie them onto your fishing line. On top of that,
you'll learn about all the different kinds of tackle and the safe casting
techniques. We'll end the fishing class with a quick fishing trip.
The Hooked on Fishing class meets on Saturdays, March 29, April 12 and 26,
from 1-5PM at the Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (333 North Hill Circle,
Rochester). There is a course fee of $35.00.
