First of all, welcome to the message forums!
Now, as far as I go, I say niether. I'd go with 10 pound Power Pro. You'll get a smaller diameter, much stronger line, less stretch. But, if it has to be between those two lines for what ever reason, i'd go with the silver thread. [cool]
What kind of fishing will you be doing?

I am a big fan of Silver Thread by Excalibur. It is strong and thinner than most lines of comparable size by Lb test.

For Crappie and Trout I would still go with the Silver Thread. You can even get that stuff at Cabelas.[cool]

I like Magnathin personally ..
braids and super lines are a good choice but toss on some Flouro or Mono for a leader with the Crappie and Trout.
