year old tackle - hitek - 05-26-2007 My dad gave me his old fishing tackle spinners, crankbait, jigs, etc. I know the stuff hasn't been open for at least 20 years most of it is 25-30 years old. will they still be good to use, there isn't any rust or mold no them. Thanks [signature] Re: [hitek] year old tackle - Dryrod - 05-26-2007 [cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]Hi there hitec and welcome to the BFT. Most of gear should be quite usable. However, personally I would discard any fishing lines. Good luck.[/size][/green][/font] [signature] Re: [hitek] year old tackle - birddogwi - 05-26-2007 Take a look at the hooks too.. might need to touch 'em with a file or replace a few. Some of the plastics will go bad after time.[cool] [signature] Re: [hitek] year old tackle - davetclown - 07-31-2007 any unopend ones you may want to concider as wall hangers.. They may not have a cash value now, but one day they will, and if any of them are wood, they do have a cash value now, they quit making the majority of lures out of wood a good number of years ago...
